What do you usually have for breakfast? It varies from country to country. My traditional breakfast as a child was either a bowl of cereals or some bread with jam or chocolate spread. Sweet…too sweet! I am now looking for healthy alternatives, with less sugar ( I have started with homemade blueberry -chia seeds jam and apricot jam with less or even no sugar). As usually we are in a hurry in the morning, getting the kids ready for school, this is a very simple and easy solution: overnight honey oats. It takes 5 minutes to prepare the day before and you are all set.
Serves 2
oats (100 g) – Honey (1 and a ½ tablespoons) – Milk (regular, soy milk or oat milk – 150 ml)
Put all the ingredients together in a glass jar and store it in the fridge during the night. It will be ready the next morning. So easy.
For the topping, I used 1 banana, goji berries, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, dry cranberries.
